my animations

final datum images

I was finally able to make openings on the floor to replace it with translucent yellow glass. this allows me to create a more interesting/unique space as well as light being able to enter the lower space. the whole model is mainly made of translucent yellow and blue glass, concrete and my textures. works from clients Piccinini and Swallow are featured on the glass panels on the gallery level. the words that were used to create the model were release (top) and guilt (bottom). the following images is my final datum.

youtube post relating to model

'artist's work' description

Patricia Piccinini's 'nest' work is the piece of artwork i have chosen. the work seems to be made of fibre glass as the shine shows this. i was also a bit undecided as it may also be made of plastic. however, through research, the materials that were used happened to be fibre glass, automative paint, scooter parts and leather. i guess the method of production was heating the fibre glass in order to manipulate the shape of the material. afterwards i think she used the other materials to add to the bare shape to create this impression. the gloss and emotionality of the artwork are key features as it provides us the meaning Piccinini is trying to convey.

Ricky Swallow's artwork was also interesting. this is because of the material and method used to produce the artwork. well, my initial speculation was that the artwork was made from wood. then carved up to create the sculpture. interestingly, the detail he puts into carving the scales of the fish intrigues me as it shows his ability in sculpting. also, the way how he shows the characteristics of the fishes and how they 'bend' on top of another to show realism. all in all, the artwork was made from wood and carved up.
